Nate Hobert
Pastor and Elder
As pastor, Nate oversees spiritual formation for Redeemer City. This includes teaching, discipleship, and counseling. Before planting Redeemer City Church in 2014, Nate helped plant the Vine Church (also in Madison) and served for several years as a College Pastor in Iowa City. He is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and Reformed Theological Seminary. Nate and his wife Amanda have three children: Grace, Sam, and Elise. Nate enjoys biking, running, disc golf, ultimate frisbee, and going on walks with his family and their dog Woodsey. More on Nate and his family.
Nate Rusticus
Associate Pastor of Outreach
Pastor Nate “Rusti” oversees outreach ministries at Redeemer City Church, which includes planning outreach events, teaching, discipleship, counseling, and the benevolence ministry. Before coming to Redeemer City in 2024, Nate served in church and parachurch ministries in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Arkansas. He attended Cornerstone University and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Nate and his wife Rachel have two daughters. In his spare time, Nate enjoys spending time with friends over coffee and cheering on his favorite Michigan sports teams (Detroit Tigers, Lions, Pistons, and Michigan Wolverines).
Jeff Larson
Elder
Jeff has served as an Elder since 2016, and one of his responsibilities as an Elder includes overseeing worship at Redeemer City Church. Originally from Milwaukee, Jeff attended Taylor University in Upland, Indiana and returned to Wisconsin in 2013 for his work as a physician. He and his wife Becky have four children. Jeff is a sports enthusiast, enjoys playing golf, and is a musician (singing, guitar, piano, and worship leader).
Sam Harting
Elder
Sam became an Elder at Redeemer City in 2020, and he oversees Global Missions by supporting and caring for our global partners, leading and organizing short term trips, and engaging our church community in missions. Originally from Jesup, Iowa, Sam attended Iowa State University before moving to Madison in 2011. He currently works in technical services at Epic. Sam and his wife Jess have three sons. In his free time, Sam enjoys hiking, camping, reading, sports, and experiencing different cultures.
Noah Locke
Elder
Noah joined the Elder team in 2022, and he helps lead the worship teams at Redeemer City in addition to various other ministries. Originally from Portland, Oregon, Noah has lived in Wisconsin with his wife Katie and their four children since 2013. He works at UW Health, is a musician, and enjoys software development and spending time with family.
Mike Lorenz
Elder
Mike became an Elder at Redeemer City in 2022, and his responsibilities include acting as a pastoral overseer for one of our global partners. Mike is a native of Chicago and a graduate of Winona State University. He moved to Madison in 2016 and works at a local biotech company. Mike enjoys jazz music, weight training, and spending time with his three kids.
Rachel Cronin
Children’s Ministry Coordinator
Redeemer City Children's Ministry supports parents as they seek to disciple their children to live gospel-centered lives, including Sunday school lessons as well as day-to-day partnership with families. Rachel graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor’s of Elementary Education, taught 3rd and 5th grades, and worked as a Children’s Ministry Assistant in Iowa City before becoming a stay-at-home mom to her two kids. Rachel enjoys reading, listening to podcasts and lectures, taking nature walks, and spending time with family and friends.
Holly Wagner
Executive Assistant
As Redeemer City’s Executive Assistant, Holly supports the Pastor, Elders, and ministry leaders with administrative tasks. Her role also includes organizing events, managing the church calendar, and coordinating with local partners who use our building. Holly was born and raised in the Milwaukee area, and she holds degrees in Violin Performance from The Eastman School of Music. She and her husband are performing musicians and members of the Madison Symphony Orchestra. In her spare time, Holly enjoys reading, traveling, and exploring new trails with her husband and their beagle Isla.
