We warmly welcome children and families to our Kids Ministry! Our desire is to partner with parents as they guide their children to know, love, and follow Jesus Christ.
Each week, children learn about God through engaging Bible stories, joyful songs, creative crafts, and fun activities. We want every child to feel excited about learning God’s Word and to know how deeply they are loved. As Jesus said in Matthew 19:14, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them.” Our prayer is that every child who comes through our doors knows they are special to God.
Sunday mornings are an important time for nurturing children in the Gospel. We use The Gospel Project curriculum, which helps kids understand the big story of the Bible and how every part points to Jesus. Our Kids Ministry is served by a caring team of trained volunteers who faithfully love and teach children each week.
Age Groups
We serve children from birth through 5th grade in safe, age-appropriate environments:
Little Nursery: Infants
Toddler Nursery: Up to age 2
Preschool: Ages 3-4
Elementary: Kindergarten - 2nd Grade & 3rd - 5th Grade
Elementary classes rotate every other week between Sunday School and the main worship service. When children attend the worship service, sermon activity packets are available to help them stay engaged. We love having children participate in worship and want them to feel like an important part of the body of Christ.
Schedule
Pre-K through 5th grade classes are offered during the school year. During the summer months, we give our Kids Ministry volunteers a break and provide nursery care only. Children of all ages are always welcome to worship alongside their families during the Sunday service.
Safety and Security
The safety of every child is a top priority for our team. To ensure a secure environment:
Families use a secure check-in and check-out name tag system each week.
All Kids Ministry volunteers complete interviews and background checks before serving.
The two-adult rule is followed so that no volunteer is ever alone with a child.
Volunteers receive ongoing training throughout the year.
Supporting Parents
We believe parents are the primary disciplers of their children, and we want to support and encourage you in that role.
Parents Brunches: Occasional Saturday morning gatherings where parents can enjoy brunch, hear from guest speakers on family and parenting topics, and connect with other parents. Childcare is provided.
Moms Group: A monthly gathering where moms can enjoy breakfast, hear from speakers on relevant topics, and build friendships with other moms and mentor moms. Childcare is provided.
We are grateful for the opportunity to serve families and are excited to welcome your children to Redeemer City Church Kids Ministry!
